Sossusvlei Lodge

Situated at the Entrance Gate to the Namib Naukluft Park, Sossusvlei Lodge offers direct access to the towering red sand dunes, the famous pan of Sossusvlei, the scorched black trees of Dead Vlei and the remarkable depths of the Sesriem Canyon.

The Superior Accommodation units at Sossusvlei Lodge feature a patio to enjoy views over the Desert landscapes, a spacious air-conditioned twin-bedded room and a full en-suite bathroom. The Standard Family Units feature two rooms back to back connected by a lockable inter-leading door between the two private bathrooms. An elegant Junior Suite boasts a spacious bedroom, living area, patio with a splash pool, large bathroom and inspiring views.

Facilities include a sparkling pool, bar, sundowner deck, beer garden and an al fresco terrace where one can enjoy exquisite food, award-winning wines and magnificent views of the floodlit waterhole.

The Sossusvlei Lodge Adventure Centre provides a range of activities including Guided Excursions to Deadvlei and Sossusvlei, Elim dune walks, Sundowner Trips, Quad Buggy Nature Drives, Hot Air Ballooning, Scenic Flights and much more to explore the area’s natural beauty.

ACCOMMODATION

Superior Units

The 44 individual Superior Units at Sossusvlei Lodge are uniquely designed to blend in perfectly with the natural surrounding environment.

Each of the Superior Units boasts a patio to enjoy the magnificent views over the Desert landscapes and ridges of the Naukluft Mountains.

The spacious air-conditioned bedroom features twin beds, comfortable corner couch, luggage racks, shelves, hanging space and an in-room safe and a complimentary turn-down service. In addition there is a refreshment area with a fridge and tea / coffee making facilities.

Each of the stylish en-suite bathrooms is equipped with a comfortable corner bathtub, spacious shower, toilet, double vanity and signature amenities.

Two of the Superior Rooms are designed to be handicapped and wheelchair friendly featuring no steps and are equipped with wider doors. Handles have been fitted in the bathroom and the shower has an open design for easier access.

One infant and/or child under 12 years can be accommodated free of charge in a Superior Unit shared with two full paying adults. This is subject to availability and payment of applicable meal rates. Please enquire with your booking to ensure preparations are made as required.

Standard Units

The Standard Family Units feature two rooms back to back connected by a lockable inter-leading door between the two private bathrooms.

Each room still features a patio to enjoy views over the Desert landscapes.

The interiors and décor are the same as the Superior Units with fully air-conditioned twin-bedded bedrooms. In addition there is a corner couch, refreshment area with tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, luggage rack, shelves, hanging space, in-room safe and a complimentary turn-down service.

Each private en-suite bathroom features a double vanity, toilet, spacious walk-in shower and signature amenities.

Please note that these rooms are located furthest away from the main reception building, pool and restaurant (approx. 250 m) – not suitable for people with walking difficulties.

Junior Suite

The Junior Suite ensures privacy and tranquillity with a fantastic view of the surrounding Desert plains.

The Suite consists of a spacious air-conditioned bedroom with a luxurious king-size bed, an adjacent living area and a private terrace boasting a small splash pool.

In addition there is an elegant bathroom with walk-in shower, separate toilet, double vanity and a freestanding feature bath underneath a skylight to admire the star studded skies whilst taking a relaxing bath.

Amenities include a refreshment area with tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, spacious closet, comfortable couch, safe and a complimentary turn-down service.

Restaurant at Sossusvlei Lodge

Sossusvlei Lodge is well known for sensational cuisine and many guests have praised our famous buffet dinner experience.

The al fresco terrace offers magnificent views over Elim Dune and of the floodlit waterhole where you can watch the passing parade of oryx, springbok, jackal, ground squirrel and ostrich, whilst enjoying exquisite food and wine.

Start your day with a scrumptious buffet breakfast with an extensive selection of all the favourite delectable breakfast foods and treats.

For lunch the chef will spoil you with the mouth-watering meal of the day accompanied by a variety of salads and side dishes. An a ‘la carte menu is available at the Sossusvlei Lodge Bar from 14h30 to 16h00.

The popular buffet dinner will leave you spoiled for choice between the salads, side dishes, grilled meats and stir-fries – all prepared fresh and in front of every guest! For the perfect ending there is a range of decadent dessert sensations as well as a variety of cheeses and biscuits.

Sossusvlei Lodge Acacia Beer Garden

Shaded by centuries old trees, the Acacia Beer Garden creates a relaxing atmosphere where one can sit back and enjoy an ice cold lager on tap or any other refreshments from the fully stocked Bar.

The Beer Garden features ample shaded seating.

In the evening one can enjoy the views towards the floodlit waterhole next to a cozy fire pit that forms part of the Beer Garden.

Curio Shop at Sossusvlei Lodge

Stock up with memorabilia to take home at the huge Curio Shop adjacent to the pool area.

The shop stocks a wide variety of novelties, postcards, maps, books, sunglasses, crafts, exotic handbags, unique leather items and clothing – to name just a few!

Sossusvlei Lodge Swimming Pool

A refreshing dip in the sparkling swimming pool at Sossusvlei Lodge will go a long way after a hot day of sightseeing in the Sossusvlei area.

This unique pool is inspired by the constellation of the Southern Cross and features underwater seating areas where one can enjoy the breath-taking views over the Desert landscapes.

Guests can laze on the sunbeds provided underneath cabanas dotted around the pool and relax with a good book or enjoy a few beverages from the bar.

Pool towels are available at reception. There are quite a few books available to read from the bookshelf in the lounge area.

The pool is only available to paying guests and is used at one’s own risk. Children must be under the supervision of a responsible adult at all times.
