While creating great memories for his grandchildren Sven Thieme and Sonja Thieme who now continue the legacy of their grandfather with their own families. Now, they get to create new stories sure to be told for generations to come.

We are here to give you the perfect escape that feels like your home away from home. Furthermore, Midgard creates that comforting sense of nostalgia , a sense of comfort in the midst of nature and all it had to offer.

NATURE AND WILDLIFE

Marvel at the stunning 360° panoramic view of the Otjihavera Mountains on a sundowner drive to Hilltop, or explore the beautiful natural wilderness of the bushland area on a morning or afternoon game drive through the separate 2000 hectare nature reserve along the Swakop River. Spot wildlife such as giraffe, blue and black wildebeest, gemsbok, kudu, red hartebeest, eland, warthog, baboon and smaller antelope such as steenbok. Midgard is also a magnetic destination for avid birders, with a wide array of semi-indigenous and migratory feathered friends to tick off your list.

MIDGARD HORSE RIDING

For the avid horse lover, those with a passion for the outdoors and you with a sense of adventure, Midgard now offers a variety of horse riding packages designed for beginners and advanced riders. From kiddies guided pony rides to longer, scenic outrides, this is the ideal way to get close to nature and enjoy the tranquility and the surrounds. Available for day visitors and guests.

OTHER

Get the team together and compete in a game of volleyball, tennis or outdoor chess on one of the sport terrains scattered throughout the property.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation at Midgard consists of 67 standard rooms. Including 1 luxury room and 13 family rooms, 1 suite, as well as 8 junior suites. Ideal for school, church and scout groups, the Midgard Train Carriage, just a two-minute walk from the main lodge, is the perfect, exciting retreat.

THE BARN RESTAURANT

Additionally dine at Carl’s Dining Room & Terrace for hearty and homely country-style cuisine with a Namibian twist. Evening meals are served buffet-style or as a three-course set menu, with three selections per course. Furthermore, choose from the à la carte lunch menu and enjoy it al fresco on the terrace under a canopy of trees overlooking the lush greenery that abounds.

MIDGARD BALI BOMA

Moreover, the perfect banquet venue awaits at the Midgard Bali Boma, a large thatched pergola constructed in a Balinese style. The venue boasts a private bar, restrooms, central barbeque and seating for up to 150 guests. Additionally the boma is ideal for wedding receptions and large banquets.

CONFERENCE DINING

In addition conference groups and weddings can be accommodated in an array of locations at Midgard. Such as, the Hilltop Open Air Braai (suited for 20-100 guests), the Exclusive Use Braai (20-100 guests) and the Bali Boma for buffets (50-150 guests). Private banqueting rooms are also available for buffet meals (20-80 guests).

Depending on the season, occupancy and weather, the BBQ Terrace serves drinks, snacks and dishes from the restaurant’s à la carte lunch menu. Subject to occupancy, it also offers a traditional Namibian Braai (BBQ).

Additionally Carl’s Bar & Lounge incorporates a cosy TV lounge. Where guests can socialize, as well as enjoy sporting events on a large screen. An adjacent pool table can also be enjoyed while relaxing in the lounge area.
